Sofa Sidekick

Privacy Policy: Sofa Sidekick

Effective: July 18, 2026 Run by: Project524 LLC

The short version: Sofa Sidekick has accounts and stores your data on our server, because that's how it syncs across your devices. We don't sell it, we don't advertise, and we don't hand it to anyone. That's the whole deal.

What we store

Your name and email, the shows and movies you track, your watch progress, watchlist, and what you own.

It lives in our database (hosted with Sevalla) so it's there when you log in from any device.

We don't store a password โ€” you sign in with a one-time code we email you, so there's no password for us to keep (or for anyone to steal).

What we do with it

Run the app. That's it. We use your data to keep you logged in, remember your shows, and sync across your devices. We don't sell it and we don't advertise.

Your tracking is private to you

Sofa Sidekick is a private tracker. Your library, progress, watchlist, and stats are yours โ€” there's no feed, no followers, and no public profile. Other people don't see what you watch.

What leaves our server

To show you episode info and artwork, we look shows up with TheTVDB (their privacy policy). Those requests contain only the show being looked up, never your name or your library.

If we add paid features later, payments will be handled by a payment processor (like Stripe), and your card details go to them, not us.

Cookies & analytics

We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in, plus a small saved setting that remembers your cookie choice. These are essential to run the app, so they're always on.

With your permission, we also use Google Analytics to understand how the app is used (which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from) so we can make it better. That's it โ€” we don't use it for advertising, and we don't sell the data.

Analytics is off until you opt in. The first time you visit, you'll see a banner: choose "Accept all cookies" to allow analytics, or "Only necessary cookies" to decline. Nothing analytics-related loads until you accept, and if you decline it never runs. You can change your mind any time from Cookie settings (in the footer, and under Preferences in the app); switching analytics off also clears the Google Analytics cookies. Google's handling of the data it collects is covered by their privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Delete your account and your data goes with it. You can also export your tracking data whenever you want, in full, so it's always yours to take with you.

Kids

Sofa Sidekick isn't meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this ever changes, the new version shows up here with a new date.
